Our Mission

The Mission of Loving Paws Animal Assisted Therapy program is to promote the human-animal bond, create a fun and engaging environment that provides positive support and motivation, while enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable populations and those in need throughout Douglas County through education, certification, guidance and support using animal-assisted activity and therapy.

We Will

Offer animal-assisted activity and therapy training, as well as testing and certification for volunteers and their dogs. Our certified teams will provide services throughout the community through visits to community centers, nursing care facilities, palliative care facilities, shelters, the county jail, juvenile detention centers, the Douglas County Court system, public and private schools, Lawrence Public Library, the University of Kansas, and more.

Loving Paws will also provide education to the community about the strength, power and importance of the human-animal bond and animal-assisted therapy.
